Replace the Hard Drive on an IMac Intel

  • Step 1

    Attach suction cups to the screen on the front of your iMac. The suction cups would have be placé in a triangular model at the edges of the screen. Traction the screen cover off use the suction cups.

  • Step 2

    Remove the screw surrounding the LCD screen on the aluminum front bezel. There would have be a total of 12 screws, and they can be removed use your Torx screwdriver.

  • Step 3

    Lift the front panel off of your iMac. Don’t elevator up too high, as you’ll to have to disconnection the iSight cable then disconnecting the iSight cable, completely to remove the aluminum bezel.

  • Step 4

    Unscrew and to remove the LCD screen. This is achieved by unscrewing the 8 screw to the left and right-hand side side of the screen use the Torx screwdriver. disconnection the three cables attache to the LCD screen located close to the computer fan and close to the Means of the case (one need be unscrewed to come out). elevator the screen out of the top, pivoting it at the bottom. Leave the screen connected to the power supply. pedestal bridge bearing the posting up firmly so you can access the parts under it, having others person catch it if the need be.

  • Step 5

    Remove the hard order from the case. First, you need remove the foam place on the bottom of the drive, and disconnection the thermics sensor that catches into the drive. to remove the fastens that catches the Probe in place, and attaches it to your new order (in the same location). To unscrew the two Torx screw located at the top of the drive. elevator the order up of the top. You need pull the order toward the top of your iMac to release pins possession the order in place. disconnection the SATA and power cables of the drive. You may now completely to remove the drive.

  • Step 6

    Slide your new order into the iMac. To replug all the cables, and To attach the thermics sensor to the fastens you attache in the precedent step. Screw the order into place, and to replace the foam padding.

  • Step 7

    Screw the LCD screen back in place. Use a cleaning fabric to to remove any dust that resulted of the hard order installation. To replug the cables to the LCD screen, manufacture sure to to replace the screw you took out earlier.

  • Step 8

    Reconnect the aluminum mounting front panel. to make sure you To replug the iSight cable front screwing the panel back in place.

  • Step 9

    Push the screen guard back in place. to remove your suction cups, and your installation would have be complete.
