Step 1
Open a Web navigator window and to direct to the Linux remote loading page on the Java Web site (see Resources).

Click the bond labeled "Linux (self-extracting file)" and to save the Fitter file to the "/usr/java/" line when prompted.

Make the file you downloaded in stage 2 Achievable by change its permissions. Type the to follow command:
chmod a+x jre-YuZ-linux-i586.bin
Substitute "Y" with the version number of the JRE package you downloaded, and "Z" with the update number of the JRE version (e.g., "6u18" for version 6, update 18). Press the "Enter" key to to carry out the command.
Step 5
Verify that the permission change carried out successfully by Type the to follow command and pressing "Enter":
ls -l
Step 6
Select the directory in which you saved the Fitter file by Type the to follow command and pressing "Enter":
cd /usr/java/
Step 7
Type the to follow command:
./jre-YuZ-linux-i586.bin
As in stage 4, substitute product "Y" with the version number of the JRE package you downloaded, and "Z" with the update number of the JRE version (e.g., "6u18" for version 6, update 18). Press the "Enter" key to to carry out the command.
Step 8
Press the space bar to sight the pages of the JRE's license agreement. Type "yes" (without quotation marks) and press "Enter" then reviewing the agreement to beginning the installation process. A message reading "Done" appears in the Limit window once the process is complete.
