Step 1
Visit your local supermarket or grocery store and look for a roaster chicken. This is a chicken that is specifically for roasting. Select one that is at least 4 pounds or larger to serve an average family.

To prepare the roaster chicken remove it from its packaging and place it under running cool water in the sink. Remove anything that is stuffed in the roasters cavity. Wash and dry thourougly. Stuff the chicken cavity with corn bread stuffing or bread stuffing if you prefer.
Step 3
Melt butter and pour over the outside of the roaster chicken. Then sprinkle the chicken with salt, pepper,poultry seasoning, sage.
Step 4
Take the chicken and place it in a uncovered roster pan with the breast side up. Roast the chicken at approximately 325 degrees. Let the chicken cook about 30 minutes for each pound that the chicken weighs. Remember to keep an eye on the chicken and baste it regularly.
Step 5
Make sure the chicken is completely cooked before removing it from the oven. Stick a large fork in the breast meat. If the meat is tender and does not show any red juices then the chicken is done. And ready to take out of the oven. Serve the roasted chicken meal with stuffing and sprigs of parsley placed around a serving platter.
