Invent Your Own Casserole

  • Step 1

In a bowl, stir together one can undiluted cream style soup, sour cream, milk, water, salt, pepper, and other seasonings (I often use this recipe to help finish off the last of a jar of spices) to taste.

  • Step 2

Stir in one package frozen vegetable (my favorites are Italian style green beans or peas, but feel free to use your favorites). Add pasta and meat/poultry. Stir in any other extras that sound good to you--a few cloves of garlic, some chopped onion or celery. Whatever you have hiding in your refrigerator is fair game here. Experiment! Try anything that sounds good.

  • Step 3

Spoon mixture into a lightly greased casserole dish. Top with your favorite cheese (I use sandwich slices, but shredded would work equally well) and/or bread crumbs. Bake, covered, at 350 for 1 hour 10 minutes; uncover and bake 10 more minutes. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
