Step 1
Semi-homemade pork and beans taste as if you made them from scratch. I have made pork and beans from scratch many times in the past. Basically, I couldn't notice much difference in taste between my homemade and semi-homemade beans.
Step 2
You will need 3 cans of pork and beans, 5 strips of smoked bacon, ½ cup brown sugar, ½ cup honey, and 1-cup catsup. First, mix place beans in large mixing bowl, add sugar, 6 all beef franks, honey, and catsup. Next place entire contents in a large casserole dish.
Step 3
Finally, take bacon strips and layer them across the top of your casserole. Place in a pre-heated 350-degree oven for approximately 20 minutes. Bacon should become crisp as casserole bakes. If desired, you can cut the franks in two. Let stand about 5 minutes after removing from oven. You can also break bacon into small pieces and mix it into your casserole. Enjoy!!
