Step 1
After weeks of planning you finally decided to have a great barbecue. Some sort of beef would be a fun idea. When you visit your local super market, you notice London broil is on sale. In the back of your mind you realize, if this beef is cook incorrectly, it could give your guest sore jaws. Have no fear, my tips will have your guest asking " what type steak is this? it is so tender."
Step 2
When buying your London broil, try to pick a very large piece. Once your selection is complete, place the beef in the freezer for about 2 hours (no longer). This time frame will allow the meat to become stiff but not solid. The meat being a bit stiff actually makes cutting it easier. Holding the London broil length wise, with a very sharp steak knife cut the meat completely in half. Butterfly the entire steak. This should create 2 steaks , the same size, but half the thickness.
Step 3
Once your carving is done, marinate your beef with a high quality steak marinate , along with salt and peeper to taste. After about 30 minutes, pre heat your grill. Once the barbecue is hot place both steaks on the grill. While cooking both London broils, apply a small amount of mustard to the up side of the steaks. After turning your masterpiece, apply the mustard the second side. This process will add flavor to the meat,as well as prevent burning.
